Pallet Rack & Warehouse Storage in Zapata, TX
We plan, supply and install pallet racks in Zapata for oilfield parts and building-supply warehouses. Pallet rack systems hold packaged loads, while cantilever rack supports pipe and lumber and shelving serves smaller parts. Zapata is the county seat at US-83 and SH-16 near Falcon International Reservoir, about 50 miles south of Laredo. For oilfield-service and building-supply yards, the storage choice follows pipe lengths, lumber bundles and the smaller parts that support daily work.
We plan new cantilever rack for long material, selective pallet positions for suitable loads and shelving for parts rooms. A modest warehouse does not need a single storage pattern everywhere. The handling units establish where each system belongs.
Pallet Racks and Parts-Room Shelving in Zapata
A parts room may hold containers that are picked by hand rather than complete forklift loads. Record the box sizes, typical quantities and identifying differences between components. Shelf openings should make those containers accessible without hiding shorter items behind larger packages.
Where parts arrive on pallets, distinguish incoming reserve stock from hand-picking locations. Selective pallet racks can hold the reserve loads while smaller containers are replenished in a separate zone. The replenishment path should not depend on clearing the same place used to receive incoming supplies.
Cantilever Rack for US-83 Oilfield Stock
Zapata lies on the Wilcox, or Lobo, natural-gas trend of Webb and Zapata counties. Oilfield-service and wellhead yards line US-83. For their pipe and lumber storage tasks, tell us the length range and full bundle weight before a cantilever arm pattern is chosen.
Column and arm requirements depend on the arrangement and the actual supports carrying a load. Keep dissimilar lengths in identifiable groups. The longest bundle also establishes how the truck turns and approaches, so the yard sketch must extend beyond the cantilever rack’s resting footprint, with pallet racks kept out of the long-load turn.
Warehouse Racking Layouts for Corridor Parcels
Industrial land listings cluster along US-83 and FM 2687. A parcel’s frontage does not establish its interior pallet racking and handling plan. Show the intended unloading point, building entrance and route to each storage face. Long-material travel and pallet retrieval can need different clearances in the same operation.
TxDOT has proposed widening US-83 to four lanes in Zapata County. We treat that as proposed corridor work, not a promise about future traffic or inventory. Current load quantities and truck movement remain the basis for row length, aisle placement and the division between open staging and storage.
Pallet Rack Installation and Warehouse Moves in Zapata
Lumber bundles can suit cantilever support while smaller building supplies may be palletized or hand-picked. Separate these groups during the inventory review. We ask whether an entire bundle leaves together or whether shorter quantities must be selected, because that changes the accessibility needed at the face.
For a relocation, compare the origin and destination handling routes before repeating the old layout. Pallet rack beam elevations must fit the new clear height and truck reach. Agree on an area for incoming rack components and on the order of storage zones, leaving the operation with a defined place for stock during each stage.
For a parts-room review, include the package that arrives and the smaller unit staff remove. Connecting those two forms can clarify whether the operation needs reserve pallet positions, picking shelves or both.

Warehouse Racking Questions
Which rack suits a Zapata wellhead supply shop?
The answer depends on how each component is handled. Long pipe can use cantilever support, palletized supplies can use selective bays, and small parts can use shelving. List the loads separately so each group receives an appropriate capacity and access arrangement.
Can lumber and pipe share one cantilever specification?
Only if the actual lengths, weights and support needs fit the intended arrangement. We compare both materials rather than assume a shared long shape makes them equivalent. Separate positions may make identification and retrieval more practical when bundle sizes differ.
Should the proposed US-83 widening change our rack count?
Not by itself. A road proposal does not define the stock you will hold. Plan the current inventory accurately and identify what would require a later revision, such as a new bundle length, a changed pallet profile or a different receiving route.
